Is your electrical panel keeping up with your home?
Today's homes ask a lot of their electrical panel — EV chargers, heat pumps, central air, hot tubs, and a growing list of appliances all draw power at once. If your panel is undersized, decades old, or showing warning signs like flickering lights, warm breakers, or frequent trips, it may be time for an upgrade.
Power Up replaces outdated and unsafe panels with modern, properly sized service that meets current code. We handle the utility coordination, permits, and inspection from start to finish — and we explain exactly what your home needs so you can make an informed decision with no pressure.

How do I know if I need a panel upgrade?+
Common signs include flickering or dimming lights, breakers that trip often, warm or buzzing panels, reliance on extension cords, or an older 60–100A panel that can't keep up with modern appliances. If you're adding an EV charger, hot tub, or central air, an upgrade is often required. We'll assess your panel and tell you honestly whether you need one.
What's the difference between 100A and 200A service?+
Amperage is how much power your panel can safely deliver at once. Many older homes have 100A service, which can struggle with today's electrical loads. Upgrading to 200A roughly doubles your capacity, giving you headroom for EV chargers, heat pumps, and future additions.
Will my power be out during the upgrade?+
Yes, power is shut off temporarily while we replace the panel — usually for several hours. We coordinate with your utility and work efficiently to minimize the downtime, and we'll let you know what to expect ahead of time.
Do panel upgrades require a permit?+
Yes. Panel replacements require an electrical permit and inspection in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. We handle the permitting, utility coordination, and inspection as part of the job.
Is an outdated panel really a safety risk?+
It can be. Certain older panel brands and worn breakers are known fire and shock hazards, and undersized panels can overheat under heavy load. If we find a genuine safety issue, we'll show you and explain your options — no scare tactics.
