Home EV charging done right the first time
A Level 2 charger turns an overnight charge into a few hours, giving your electric vehicle a full battery whenever you need it. But a safe install is more than mounting a box on the wall — it means verifying your electrical panel has the capacity, running a dedicated 240-volt circuit, and pulling the right permits.
Power Up handles the entire job end to end: we assess your panel, recommend the right charger and circuit, install it cleanly, and make sure everything passes inspection. Whether you drive a Tesla, a Ford, a Rivian, or anything in between, we'll get you charging at home with confidence.

What's the difference between Level 1 and Level 2 charging?+
Level 1 uses a standard 120-volt outlet and adds only a few miles of range per hour. A Level 2 charger runs on a dedicated 240-volt circuit and charges several times faster — typically giving a full charge overnight or in just a few hours.
Will my electrical panel support an EV charger?+
Many panels can, but it depends on your current capacity and existing loads. We always check your panel before installing. If an upgrade is needed, we'll explain why and quote it upfront — we never recommend work you don't need.
Do I need a permit to install a home EV charger?+
Yes — a Level 2 charger requires an electrical permit and inspection in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. We handle the permitting and inspection process for you as part of the job.
Can you install a Tesla charger?+
Absolutely. We install the Tesla Wall Connector as well as ChargePoint and universal chargers. If you're unsure which to choose, we'll walk you through the options for your vehicle and home.
How long does installation take?+
Most residential installs are completed in a single visit. The exact time depends on the distance from your panel to the charger location and whether any panel work is required.
